BACKUP POWER LLC
Privacy Policy & Communication Preferences
Effective date: November 3, 2026
Backup Power LLC (“Backup Power,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle information collected through backuppowerpa.com, customer inquiries, generator services, job applications, and communications by phone, text, and email.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide, such as your name, phone number, email, service address, requested services, generator details, messages, and communication preferences. Applicants may provide employment information and a résumé. We may also retain correspondence, service records, consent and opt-out records, and—when enabled with appropriate notice and consent—call recordings, transcripts, and AI-generated summaries.
Our website and hosting providers may process technical information, including IP addresses, browser information, and security logs. Embedded videos, maps, reviews, and fonts may connect your browser to their providers.
How we use information
We use information to respond to inquiries; prepare requested estimates; schedule and perform installation, maintenance, and repair; provide job and account updates; administer our business; consider applications; improve service; and maintain security. We use your selected preferences to determine whether to send service texts, promotional texts, or marketing emails.
Service texts and promotional texts are separate choices
Providing a phone number or requesting an estimate does not, by itself, sign you up for text messages. Our contact form provides separate, optional choices for:
- Service texts: appointment confirmations and reminders, requested estimate follow-ups, job progress, maintenance reminders, and related customer-service communications.
- Marketing texts: promotions, special offers, and other advertising from Backup Power LLC, including recurring messages sent using automated technology.
- Marketing emails: newsletters, offers, and company updates.
Each text-message choice starts unchecked. You can submit an inquiry or purchase services without consenting to texts or marketing. Selecting one channel does not authorize another. Declining marketing does not prevent us from sending necessary service or account communications through another appropriate channel.
Text Messaging Terms
When you select an SMS consent checkbox or otherwise give the applicable permission, you authorize Backup Power LLC to send the selected category of messages to the mobile number you provide. We may use Dialpad and communications providers to deliver and manage texts. Message frequency varies with your requests, service activity, and selected program. Message and data rates may apply.
To stop texts: reply STOP to a message from us. A STOP request stops texts from that sending number, including service and promotional texts. You may receive a final confirmation of your opt-out; further texts require renewed permission. You may also ask us to stop through another reasonable contact method. Do not rely on continuing service texts after opting out.
For help: reply HELP or call 724-686-5198. To resume texts or change which types you receive, contact us so we can confirm your renewed permission and available preferences. Please tell us if your number changes or is reassigned.
Delivery depends on mobile carriers and network availability and is not guaranteed. Carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages. Do not use texting for urgent emergencies. These messaging terms describe communications only; separate estimates, service agreements, and installation contracts govern purchased services.
Marketing emails and other preferences
Use the email newsletter choice on our form to select whether you want promotional emails. You can unsubscribe through the instructions in a marketing email or contact us. Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not cancel texts, and stopping texts does not unsubscribe you from email. Service, scheduling, billing, and other necessary non-promotional emails may continue.
Call recording, transcription, and AI
We may use Dialpad to record or transcribe calls and create AI-assisted notes or summaries for customer service, training, quality assurance, and accurate business records. Where these features are enabled, we will provide the applicable notice and obtain required consent before recording or transcription. Our service providers may perform this processing on our behalf.
If you do not agree, tell our representative before discussing personal information so we can arrange an available alternative. Submitting a website form or reading this policy does not itself authorize call recording or transcription. AI-generated notes can contain mistakes; contact us to clarify an important service instruction or record.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information or provide it to other businesses for their own marketing. We may provide information needed by service providers supporting our hosting, communications, scheduling, payments, and business operations; by parties involved in fulfilling your requested services; or when required by law or necessary to protect rights and security.
Mobile numbers, SMS opt-in information, and text-message consent records are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Communications vendors and carriers may process information only as needed to support our messaging services, subject to applicable obligations. General business-sharing provisions do not authorize independent marketing use of SMS consent information.
Cookies and embedded services
WordPress may use necessary administrative or login cookies. Third-party features, including Google Maps, Vimeo videos, and Featurable reviews, may process technical data or use cookies under their own policies. Browser settings can restrict cookies, although some features may not work. Do not include sensitive personal information in public reviews.
Security, retention, and requests
We use reasonable safeguards and restrict access to information based on business needs. No system can guarantee complete security. We retain information as reasonably needed for services, consent documentation, legitimate business purposes, and applicable legal obligations, then delete or de-identify it when appropriate.
You may contact us to request access to or correction of your information, ask about deletion, or change communication preferences. We may verify your identity and retain records needed for legal, contractual, security, or opt-out purposes. Keeping an opt-out record helps prevent unwanted future messages.
